FISH HAWKS CONTEST RULES 2007

PRIZES ARE SUBJECT TO THE FINANCIAL STATUS OF THE FISH HAWKS Monthly Contest All entries are to be handled by the Contest
Chairman. Entries should be submitted at a monthly Meeting or mailed to the Contest Chairman. Last
minute entries may be PHONED to the chairman. All entries
must be received 24 hrs. Prior to weighing in a Fish caught on rod and reel. If two fish are of equal weight, the winner is
the first fish weighed in. The second fish would take second place. In the
event of a tie, the prize will be evenly shared. No one
person can win more than once (1st/2nd/3rd)
for the same specie on a given month. However, he/she can win a prize (1st/2nd/3rd)
for another specie during that month. Prizes will be gift certificates,
the value to be determined by the number of entrants for each species. For example,
moneys raised by entries in the fluke contest will be awarded via gift
certificates to winners in the
Fluke category only. The committee will obtain gift certificates from the
official weigh-in stations listed below. Certificates shall be purchased from
the weigh-in station where the winning fish was weighed. Exception, if over
25 pounds and weighed in at other than an official weigh-in station, member
may choose any one of the official stations. . All contest moneys not awarded, shall go to
the Club treasury. Annual Tournament Fishing Days Open to all
paid members: no entrance fee, no-sign up. Members must exit or enter either
of 3 inlets, (Manasquan-Barnegat-Beach Haven) or in the surf between Pt.
Pleasant and Beach Haven. Eligible species are Bluefish-Fluke-Sea Bass-Weakfish-Striped
Bass. Weigh-in procedures below must be followed. Cash awards are given
for the heaviest fish over the listed minimum weight specified on the monthly
contest form. Prizes are in
cash as follows: 1st/$25, 2nd/$15, 3rd/$10.00
Weigh-in Procedures Under 25 lbs. The official weigh-in stations are: and Grizz’s
Forked River Bait & Tackle (232 Rt. 9. Forked River) and
L&H Woods and Water (403 Rt. 9 Waretown). When weighing in a fish, you must
initial the weigh-in sheet, which verifies the information. Over 25 lbs. When weighing in fish at
locations other than the above official weigh-in stations you must submit a
weigh-in slip including species name, and weight on letterhead, or business
card or invoice from that station signed by the weigh master. YEARLY AWARDS * NEW $75.00 will be awarded to members at the annual banquet
for the heaviest fish, over listed minimum weights and size, BLACK FISH
(TAUTOG), STRIPED BASS, FLUKE, SEA BASS, BLUEFISH, AND WEAKFISH. You need not be
in the monthly contest or tournament days to qualify. CLUB RECORDS A fish
submitted for a club record may be taken from any ocean, there is no
geographical limitation. If the fish is
not weighed in at an official station, you must follow weigh-in
